NYC-based Silja Magg truly has one-of-a-kind taste when it comes to making photos.  Her signature portraits of women can be anything from spontaneous to nostalgic.  Her compilation of work is a faultless example of what a keen eye for beauty can achieve.  I inquired with Silja specifically about the unpublished photos above because they strike me as the essence of what it is she does so effortlessly.  She’s nice enough to let them appear here for you all to enjoy.

You’ve probably followed this blog long enough to know that I’m not keen on celebrities and pop culture icons otherwise in fashion publications.  However, the above is a rare exception of a photo I felt compelled enough to feature.  It’s aesthetically pleasing, sure – but that’s not all.  On this particular page, the 27 year old American actress is quoted as having said the following.  “I don’t have a Facebook or a Twitter account.  I can’t think of anything I’d rather do less than have to continuously share details of my everyday life.”  I get it; she’s known.  She’s in a continuous spotlight on and off set.  That said, it’s something commendable to say nonetheless and should probably be more universal as a thought process.  Maybe she’s onto something.  Food for thought, I suppose.
